Upon completion of the training, local law enforcement and other first responder departments can become “Dementia Certified” as long as no less than 75% of officers complete the training either virtually or as a group on site. We will provide your local department a quality “Dementia Friendly Department” certificate and laminated posters to display throughout your facility. The first step to creating a Dementia Friendly Department is to provide training to all personnel who will respond to a call or interact with an individual with Alzheimer’s Disease or another form of dementia. A team of professionals that are highly trained to not only recognize dementia but how to respond appropriately to handle a crisis situation can make all the difference to prevent a possibly life-threatening situation. It is invaluable for first responders to create a dementia friendly culture that embraces, supports, and properly responds to individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or other Dementia.
